04:04 PM EDT, 05/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Most major digital assets were trending upwards mildly Thursday, with bitcoin (BTC-USD) holding steady at above $62,000.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks 193 digital assets, was up 0.4% in the past 24 hours while the Nasdaq 100, the S&P 500, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.2%, 0.5% and 0.8%, respectively.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD), the largest cryptocurrency by market value, was up 0.3% in the last 24 hours at $62,453, according to CoinMarketCap data. Trading volume was $26.27 billion, up 3.7%.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset, was trading 0.7% higher at $3,020.
BNB (BNB-USD), the third-largest digital asset by market value excluding stablecoins, was up 1.3% and Solana (SOL-USD), the fourth-largest, jumped 3.6%.
XRP (XRP-USD) fell 1.1% while Toncoin (TON-USD) and Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) rose 11.3% and 2.2%, respectively. Cardano (ADA-USD) was trading 1% lower.
The US 10-year Treasury yield closed at 4.449% on Thursday, compared to 4.492% Wednesday, while the five-year Treasury yield closed at 4.460%, down from 4.499% a day ago.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry was up 0.5% in the last 24 hours at $2.31 trillion. The total trading volumes increased 1.8% to $66.01 billion.
