Traders Eye Busy Earnings Week as US Equity Futures Drop Pre-Bell

08:07 AM EDT, 10/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US equity futures were lower pre-bell Monday ahead of a busy week of quarterly updates from Corporate America.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slipped 0.2%, S&P 500 futures declined 0.3%, and Nasdaq futures were down 0.6%.

Technology firms Amazon ( AMZN ) and Tesla (TSLA) are some of the highlights for this week's earnings slate.

Oil prices were higher, with front-month global benchmark North Sea Brent crude up 1.9% at $74.49 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude 2.3% higher at $70.25 per barrel.

The US index of leading economic indicators, scheduled for release at 10 am ET, is seen dropping by 0.3% in September following a 0.2% downtick in the previous month, according to estimates compiled by Bloomberg.
