US Equity Futures Decline Ahead of Trump's Davos Speech
Mar 11, 2026 1:13 AM

08:13 AM EST, 01/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- US equity futures were lower pre-bell Wednesday as traders stayed on the sidelines ahead of President Donald Trump's speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were down 0.2%, S&P 500 futures were 0.1% lower, and Nasdaq futures were down 0.2%.

Trump is scheduled to address world leaders at 8:30 am ET amid tensions over his push to acquire Greenland. The president recently said he will slap increasing tariffs on key European allies until a deal for the Arctic island is reached.

Oil prices were higher, with front-month global benchmark North Sea Brent crude up 0.2% at $65.07 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude 0.4% higher at $60.59 per barrel.

The December pending home sales index is scheduled for release at 10 am ET.
