06:34 PM EDT, 06/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The US military struck Iran on Friday after President Donald Trump accused Tehran of violating a ceasefire by launching drone attacks at commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, CNBC reported Friday.
US Central Command said its aircraft struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations as well as coastal radar sites after an Iranian one-way attack drone hit the Singapore-flagged cargo ship Ever Lovely off the coast of Oman. The vessel was able to continue its voyage, according to the report.
Trump said US forces had intercepted three of four Iranian drones launched at ships in the Strait of Hormuz, with the fourth striking the Ever Lovely. "Obviously, this is a foolish violation of our Ceasefire Agreement," Trump said on Truth Social, according to CNBC.
