The Canadian dollar weakened against the US dollar on Monday, while Canada's benchmark government bond yield moved higher.
The Canadian dollar fell 0.1% to C$1.3948 per US dollar, equivalent to 71.69 US cents, after trading in a range of C$1.3934 to C$1.3964 during the session.
Canada's 10-year government bond yield rose 3.8 basis points to 3.681%, while the equivalent US Treasury yield climbed to 4.6719%.
US crude futures for September delivery rose $1.51 to $79.69 a barrel on Monday.
