Hosur is an Assembly constituency in the Krishnagiri district, in the North region of Tamil Nadu.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Hosur was won by P Balakrishna Reddy of BJP.

Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by K Gopinath of INC.

In the 2016 assembly polls, P Balakrishna Reddy garnered 89,510 votes, securing over 41.59 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 22,964 votes.

In percentage terms, the victory margin was 10.67 percent.

The constituency polled 2,15,340 votes in the 2016 Tamil Nadu assembly polls with a voter turnout of 71.21 percent.

The Hosur constituency has a literacy level of 72.41 percent.

A total of 21 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
