Amazon Prime Day sale begins Monday: Here are the top deals

Amazon Inc's second Prime Day sale begins on Monday at 12 pm and is set to be bigger than last year.

Last year's sale lasted 30 hours while this year Amazon's Prime Day event will go on for 36 hours. The sale event this year is available for shoppers in more countries and Amazon is promising a million deals but with one major exception—it is only open to Amazon Prime members.

Amazon India said Prime members can look forward to big sales and exclusive items, special edition products as well as a raft of online deals.

Here's what to expect:

Amazon is offering up to 70 percent off on furniture like wooden beds, ladders, sofa cum beds, study table and chairs and recliners and entertainment units and , bath accessories and more.

One can avail up to 60 percent off on various appliances including vacuum cleaners and professional tool kits. Kitchen appliances like mixer, grinders, choppers, knives too are set to get up to 60 percent discount.

Beauty products from shampoos and soaps, lotions, skin care to baby products including diapers and health care devices like blood pressure monitors, weighing scale, glucometer, massagers are set to see a discount of anything between 25 to 70 percent for Prime members.

Another major product category is smartphones. Most Amazon-exclusive smartphones will be available at a discount of up to 40 percent.

When it comes to payment, Amazon is offering instant discounts on HDFC Bank cards and for its Amazon Pay wallet users too.

Amazon Prime membership costs Rs 999 in India for a full year but one can now also subscribe to the Rs 129 monthly plan if you don't want to use it for more than a few months.
