June 28 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers,
acquisitions and disposals were reported by 2000 GMT on Friday:
** China's Tianqi Lithium has asked Chile's
financial regulator to reconsider its decision about the
SQM-Codelco lithium deal not needing shareholder approval,
newspaper La Tercera reported.
** BBVA's chairman said the bank had "no need"
to improve its hostile bid for rival Sabadell, as he
vowed to push ahead with the deal despite political opposition
and regulatory uncertainty.
** Brazilian restaurant chain operator Zamp
is in advanced talks to buy the rights to operate the Subway
brand in the South American country, local newspaper O Globo
reported.
** Buyout fund Cinven has agreed to buy a 70% stake in
Idealista from Swedish rival EQT and others in a deal
that values it at 2.9 billion euros ($3.10 billion), the Spanish
online real estate firm said.
** EU antitrust regulators will decide by Aug. 1 whether
to clear Hewlett Packard Enterprise's ( HPE ) $14 billion
acquisition of networking gear maker Juniper Networks ( JNPR ),
a filing on the European Commission website showed.
** Spain's Repsol is in talks to merge its UK
North Sea oil and gas business with private equity-backed NEO
Energy, three industry sources said, the latest consolidation
effort by companies that operate in the basin amid greater tax
pressures.
** Nokia's bid to buy U.S. optical networking
gear maker Infinera ( INFN ) in a $2.3 billion deal puts the
Finnish company on track to gain from the billions of dollars in
investment pouring into data centres to cater to the rise of
artificial intelligence.
** Video game services group Keywords Studios ( KYYWF )
said it was willing to agree to a 1.96 billion pound ($2.48
billion) takeover by EQT if the private equity firm
made a formal offer at that price.
** China Three Gorges, UAE firm Masdar and
French energy companies Engie and Total are
expected to file final offers to buy Spanish renewables firm
Saeta Yield, newspaper Cinco Dias reported.
** Spanish holding company Criteria said it raised its
stake in telecom giant Telefonica to 9.99%, almost
matching the stake the Spanish government recently bought in the
company.
** Citadel will buy Japanese power firm Energy Grid in its
first acquisition in Japan and the first major U.S. investment
in Japan's wholesale energy market in recent years, billionaire
investor Kenneth Griffin's hedge fund said in a statement.
** Australia gave the go-ahead for ANZ Group's ( ANZGF )
A$4.9 billion ($3.26 billion) buyout of Suncorp's
banking business, clearing the deal to proceed after almost two
years of scrutiny by financial regulators and treasury.
