YUPRO Placement and NPower Announce Partnership for Turnkey Cybersecurity & Cloud Computing Apprenticeships
Oct 20, 2025 10:36 AM

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Demand for cybersecurity talent is outpacing supply, with U.S. employers listing more than 514,000 cybersecurity jobs in the latest year-long reporting period, a 12% increase from the year prior. Information security analyst positions will grow by 29% over the next decade, but only 14% of organizations have the necessary skilled talent to meet their cybersecurity objectives. To address these gaps, YUPRO Placement and NPower have partnered to deliver skills-based, turnkey U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs) focused on cybersecurity and cloud.

Closing skills gaps in cybersecurity + cloud, YUPRO Placement + NPower provide job-ready talent through apprenticeships.

The program combines NPower's front-loaded technical training with YUPRO Placement's Employer of Record and apprenticeship intermediary services to deliver job-ready talent in just weeks, without the administrative headaches that typically keep companies from adopting RAP programs.

Through NPower's 16–20 week, DOL-approved Tech Fundamentals program, apprentices receive instruction on topics, including Managing Threats & Vulnerabilities, Security Controls, Diagnosing Network Exploits, Securing Operating Systems, Controlling Assets, Leveraging Security Tools, and Monitoring Services. Apprentices earn certifications in the technology industry's top cybersecurity programs, including CompTIA: Security+ and CompTIA: Linux+.

NPower also offers skills-based training in cloud systems as well as the opportunity to earn AWS Cloud Practitioner and AWS Solutions Architect – Associate certifications. These programs prepare apprentices for high-demand roles such as SOC Analysts, Security Analysts, Cloud Support Operations, Cloud Administrators, and Technicians.

As an approved DOL Apprenticeship Intermediary, YUPRO Placement hires apprentices as W2 employees, managing payroll, benefits, compliance, and ongoing coaching. Employers host the on-the-job work experience with the ability to evaluate apprentices before making full-time conversion decisions.

"Employers can't afford talent gaps in these high stakes roles. Now more than ever they realize the need for more skilled talent, but most don't have the infrastructure to launch and scale RAPs on their own," said Michelle Sims, CEO of YUPRO Placement. "They consistently cite staff time required to manage apprenticeship programs as a top barrier and point to complex registration and compliance processes as major obstacles. We are building hiring models that remove roadblocks and open doors for employers and talent alike, delivering a workforce solution that fuels businesses and expands economic opportunity."

"This partnership with YUPRO Placement represents a vital step forward in closing the cybersecurity and cloud talent gap by combining rigorous technical training with accessible, scalable apprenticeship opportunities, while providing employers with a seamless pathway to onboard and grow new talent," says Bertina Ceccarelli, NPower's CEO.

The partnership reflects the alignment of missions between the two organizations. YUPRO Placement, a Public Benefit Corporation, is committed to advancing economic mobility for STARs—Skilled Through Alternative Routes—who bring diverse experiences and adaptability to the workforce. NPower, a national nonprofit, has helped more than 12,000 young adults and military-connected individuals launch technology careers through free, high-quality training. Together, the two organizations are scaling a workforce solutions model that not only solves urgent business needs but also expands opportunity for untapped pools of talent.

This program is part of YUPRO Placement's broader workforce development program, SKILLSFIT™, which offers employers a menu of hiring solutions through a wide range of training and certification partnerships.

Employers interested in hosting apprentices through the NPower–YUPRO Placement program can contact [email protected] or visit www.yupro.com.
