Oct 20 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened

higher on Monday, with materials sector leading the rise, as

investors looked ahead to crucial economic reports and corporate

earnings slated throughout this week.

At 9:31 a.m. ET (1331 GMT), Toronto's S&P/TSX composite

index was up 0.7% at 30,327.87 points.
