CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens lower as energy shares weigh

Oct 28 (Reuters) - Canada's commodity-heavy main stock

index opened lower on Monday as the energy sector tracked a

steep decline in oil prices, while investors awaited major

earnings reports and economic data later this week.

At 9:31 a.m. ET (13:31 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's

S&P/TSX composite index was down 47.25 points, or

0.19%, at 24,416.42.
