Apr 22, 2024 4:36 AM

07:12 AM EDT, 04/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Wall Street futures pointed higher pre-bell Monday as Middle East tensions entered a lull, and as traders peered into a heavy week of earnings releases.

Later this week, corporate behemoths Tesla (TSLA), Meta Platforms (META), Microsoft (MSFT), Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL), Boeing (BA), Visa (V), Intel (INTC), IBM (IBM), UPS (UPS), Merck (MRK), General Motors (GM), Ford (F), Caterpillar (CAT) and Exxon Mobil (XOM) report earnings, among many others.

In the futures, the S&P 500 rose 0.6%, the Nasdaq inclined 0.7% and the Dow Jones was up 0.5%.

Asian exchanges traded mostly higher overnight, while European bourses tracked moderately north midday on the continent.

Verizon Communications (VZ), Truist Financial (TFC), and Albertsons (ACI) plan to report earnings pre-bell, among others.

On the thin economic calendar is the Chicago Fed National Activity Index for March, at 8:30 am ET.

In premarket action, Bitcoin traded at $65,993, West Texas Intermediate crude oil traded lower at $81.87, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 4.66%. Spot gold traded for $2,358 an ounce.
