European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Little Changed in Tuesday Trading

10:59 AM EDT, 09/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were little changed late Tuesday morning, edging 0.01% lower to 1,529.86 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) and biopharmaceutical company Cellectis ( CLLS ) , which rose 3.5% and 3% respectively. They were followed by oil and gas companies Eni (E) and TotalEnergies (TTE), which were up 1.5% and 1.4% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by biotech firm Evaxion ( EVAX ) and pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) , which fell 8.1% and 1.9% respectively. They were followed by consumer goods company Unilever ( UL ) and 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS), which were down 1.5% and 1.2% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and oil and gas company BP (BP), which advanced 7.3% and 1.9% respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company Shell (SHEL) and lender Lloyds Banking Group ( LYG ) , which increased 1.5% and 1.3% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics (SLN) and biotech company Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) , which dropped 3.2% and 2.1% respectively. They were followed by mining company BHP Group (BHP) and software developer Endava ( DAVA ) , which were off 1.1% and 1% respectively.
