European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Move Higher in Tuesday Trading

11:17 AM EDT, 09/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were moving higher late Tuesday morning, rising 0.63% to 1,446.82 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Genfit ( GNFT ) and biotech firm BioNTech (BNTX), which rose 4% and 3.9% respectively. They were followed by brewing company Anheuser-Busch InBev ( BUD ) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which were up 2% and 0.1% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical company Grifols ( GRFS ) and pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ) , which fell 1.3% and 1.6% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company argenx (ARGX) and telecommunications company VEON (VEON), which were down 1.8% and 0.7% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) and insurance company Prudential (PUK), which increased 5.9% and 4.9% respectively. They were followed by mining company BHP Group ( BHP ) and financial services company Lloyds Banking Group ( LYG ) , which rose 5% and 2.4% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) and cruise line operator Carnival (CUK), which dropped 3% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by Mereo BioPharma Group ( MREO ) and biopharmaceutical companies NuCana ( NCNA ) , which lost 1.6% and 0.9% respectively.
