11:17 AM EDT, 07/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were moving modestly lower late Tuesday morning, declining 0.36% to 1,424.01 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which climbed 7.1% and 6.5% respectively. They were followed by software firm SAP (SAP) and biopharmaceutical company argenx (ARGX), which increased 5.7% and 0.8% respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical companies Genfit ( GNFT ) and Cellectis ( CLLS ) , which were down 5% and 3.4% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) and electronics company Philips (PHG), which dropped 4% and 2.1% respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company NuCana ( NCNA ) and cruise line operator Carnival (CUK), which advanced 5.5% and 3.8% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) , which rose 3.7% each.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which fell 4.6%, followed by software firm Endava ( DAVA ) and insurance company Prudential (PUK), which were down 2.1% and 2.2% respectively. Mining company BHP Group ( BHP ) was off 1.6%.
