MUMBAI, March 20 (Reuters) -
STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 182.5 points, or 0.25%,
to 72,194.55, while the broader NSE index gained 56.2
points, or 0.26%, to 21,873.65, ahead of the U.S. Federal
Reserve's interest rate decision.
RUPEE:
The Indian rupee weakened 0.04% versus the U.S. dollar,
and quoted at 83.08, tracking the rangebound price action in
most of its Asian peers, while traders also cited a crunch for
cash dollars.
GOVERNMENT BONDS:
The benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 100.59
rupees, with the yield down 1 bps at 7.0922%, as traders await
the Federal Reserve's policy decision for further cues.
OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:
The one-year overnight index swap rate was up 4
bps at 6.77%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate
fell 2 bps to 6.34%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was down 5 bps at
6.45%. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.52%,
compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.3377%.
