07:09 AM EDT, 06/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US equity futures were tracking in the green in Thursday's premarket activity as traders await a few earnings reports and some key economic data.
Standard & Poor's 500 futures gained 0.4%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.1% and the Nasdaq added 0.7% before the opening bell. US markets were closed Wednesday for the Juneteenth holiday. Asian exchanges were mixed to lower while European bourses were pointing higher.
Accenture ( ACN ) , Kroger ( KR ) , Darden Restaurants ( DRI ) , Jabil ( JBL ) , Commercial Metals ( CMC ) , GMS (GMS), Winnebago Industries ( WGO ) and Steelcase ( SCS ) post their latest financial statements pre-bell, among others.
On the economic calendar, the housing starts and permits for May posts at 8:30 am ET, along with weekly jobless claims, the Philadelphia Federal Reserve's manufacturing index for June and the first-quarter current account deficit report. The Atlanta Fed Business Inflation Expectations report for this month is out at 10 am, followed by the weekly domestic petroleum inventories report at 11 am.
Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis President Neel Kashkari is scheduled to speak at 8:45 am, while Richmond Fed President Thomas Barkin speaks at 4 pm. San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly is slated to speak at 10:15 pm.
Before the open, bitcoin rose 1.8% to $66,027, West Texas Intermediate nudged less than 0.1% higher to $81.60 a barrel, 10-year US Treasuries increased 3.3 basis points to 4.25% and gold was up 0.2% to $2,352 an ounce.
