Around 15,000 employees have resigned from Axis Bank in the past few months as mid and branch-level executives struggle to cope with mounting pressure amid managements growth drive, reported The Economic Times.
“With the complete overhaul of the way the bank functions, many are left wondering about their roles… many old-timers are feeling a bit of discomfort with the cultural change,” the newspaper quoted an anonymous source.

The large scale resignations from the organisation could affect the day to day functioning of the bank that is looking to expand its operations. Axis Bank, that has over 70,000 employees, is trying to increase its workforce by increasing the pace of hiring. “The bank is expanding fast and this has been a year of large number of new hirings, substantially higher numbers compared to last year both in gross as well as on net basis,” executive director Rajesh Dahiya was quoted as saying in the report.
The bank hired 28,000 people this fiscal year and is planning to hire another 4,000, the report said. Further, the bank is planning to hire another 30,000 employees in the next two fiscal years, the report said.
