12:13 PM EDT, 04/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- 3M ( MMM ) has issued a recall for its Peltor X4 Series earmuffs because of cracks found in the colored parts of the plastic cups, that pose a risk of overexposure to loud noises and sounds, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
Around 40,000 units, including 6,700 sold in Canada, are affected by the recall. These are black noise-reducing earmuffs with green or orange accents.
The recall affects earmuffs made between March 2020 and September 2022, with no reported injuries or incidents.
3M ( MMM ) has urged consumers to stop using the earmuffs and contact the company for a free replacement, including shipping.
