01:15 PM EDT, 08/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- AbbVie ( ABBV ) said Tuesday it will invest $195 million to construct a new facility in North Chicago, Illinois, to ramp domestic active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing.

The construction of the facility will start in fall 2025 and is expected to be operational in 2027, the company said.

The development is part of AbbVie's ( ABBV ) $10 billion investment plan in the US to drive innovation and its manufacturing footprint, according to a statement.
