08:24 AM EDT, 08/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Abcourt Mines ( ABMBF ) on Tuesday provided an update on its activities at the Sleeping Giant project in Quebec.

Abcourt said its short-term objective is to increase the number of miners and accelerate the development and extraction of the first stopes. It is also prioritizing the construction of the camp to house the workers.

The company also said among the developments include obtaining construction permits for the workers' camp, progressing work on the tailings pond and selecting a mine contractor.

For its next steps, Abcourt said it will begin extraction from stopes, advance geotechnical engineering planning and hire about 100 people, mainly underground.
