Above Food Unit, BASF Canada Develop Test to Detect Disease Resistance in Lentil Crops
Aug 20, 2024 7:17 AM

09:51 AM EDT, 08/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Above Food Ingredients ( ABVE ) said Tuesday its Discovery Seed Labs unit in collaboration with BASF Canada has developed a test to detect disease resistance in lentil crops.

The test, which is able to detect Group 11 resistant anthracnose in plants and seeds, will provide farmers with data to implement targeted disease management strategies, Above Food said.

"By accurately identifying resistant strains, growers can make more informed decisions about disease management and fungicide use, saving costs and improving yields," said Above Food Chief Executive Lionel Kambeitz.
