Acuity Brands to See Earnings Upside on Stronger Margins, QSC Deal, Morgan Stanley Says
Jan 14, 2025 10:07 AM

12:32 PM EST, 01/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Acuity Brands ( AYI ) is likely to see earnings per share upside driven by "firmer" gross margins and the overlooked benefits from the recently completed QSC acquisition, Morgan Stanley said in a note Tuesday.

The brokerage said it expects continued gross margin outperformance for the company, signaling that recent improvements are structural amid challenges in the non-residential construction market.

The QSC acquisition enhances the company's organic growth and gross margin potential, with the brokerage indicating a 120 basis point boost to normalized gross margins, a key performance indicator not yet reflected in consensus forecasts, the note said.

"[Acuity Brands ( AYI ) management] continues to display lights out execution and upside from the QSC deal should further boost sentiment, pushing the equity towards compounder status and serving as a tailwind for [Acuity Brands ( AYI )] valuation," Morgan Stanley said in the note.

Morgan Stanley raised its price target to $370 from $304, and upgraded the stock's rating to overweight from equal-weight.

Shares of Acuity Brands ( AYI ) were up more than 4% in recent Tuesday trading.

Price: 319.98, Change: +13.62, Percent Change: +4.44

Google Flights, Google’s airline search engine, allows users to look for the best flights that work for their travel plans. In the conventional sense, it is not an online travel agent, but a metasearch engine, which can give you trips on many datapoints, such as if your flight has wifi or not, but the most common use, for everyone, is to find the cheapest air tickets.
An old-fashioned day in a Goan village
An old-fashioned day in a Goan village
May 3, 2019
On banana leaf lay stone ground coal-roasted cashew apple chutney and roti. In the courtyard, a fat hen was cackling and an invisible cow mooed. Two frail women were powdering rice in an old-fashioned stone grinder, their hands moving the wheel at 70 rpm (maybe more). No, hurry. No stress. No jarring sound of the food processor. No packaged, processed food. A slow day in a slow world. It was a dusty road to a brick-thatched home in Valpoi (Goa) and the moment I hopped off the vehicle to an old, forgotten world, I knew I was a sartorial incongruity.
