Adtran, Netomnia Deploy 50G PON Service in UK

08:29 AM EDT, 05/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Adtran ( ADTN ) and Netomnia said Thursday that they are deploying a 50G passive optical network service in the UK.

Netomnia is using Adtran's ( ADTN ) SDX 6400 series to upgrade an existing residential customer with ultra-high-speed service, according to the companies, which described this as the first commercial 50G PON deployment in the UK.

The deployment shows how 50G PON can support residential services, enterprise access, mobile transport and smart city applications, the companies said.
