Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $0.68.

Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $5.84 billion, compared with $5.36 billion a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $5.72 billion.

The chipmaker said it expects Q3 revenue of about $6.7 billion, plus or minus $300 million. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expect $6.61 billion.

Shares of the company were up nearly 5% in recent after-hours activity.
