08:15 AM EDT, 06/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Advantage Energy ( AAVVF ) on Monday said that subsidiary Entropy will acquire an interest in three carbon hubs from a Canadian oil and natural gas producer for $20 million as well as $15 million in contingent payments.
The deal includes the Belle Plaine carbon hub and the North Battleford carbon hub, which are located in Saskatchewan, as well as a 50% interest in the Rolling Hills carbon hub in southern Alberta.
"We are excited to expand Entropy's footprint into Saskatchewan and strengthen our commitment to the carbon capture and sequestration business in Alberta," Entropy CEO Sanjay Bishnoi said. "This acquisition marks a significant step in our commercial growth."
Entropy will issue convertible debentures under its aggregate $500 million strategic investment agreements with Brookfield Asset Management ( BAM ) and the Canada Growth Fund to fund the acquisition. Advantage said it will not contribute capital to the deal.
The transaction is expected to close in July.
