12:26 PM EDT, 05/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- AECOM ( ACM ) said Wednesday that its joint venture with UK-based Arup has been selected as a design and consenting service partner for the UK National Grid's modernization project.

The company said the joint venture will provide technical and environmental design consulting services as well as engage with the various stakeholders as the grid project advances.

The six-year grid modernization project aims to connect homes and businesses throughout England and Wales to clean energy sources by 2030, and forms part of a supply chain framework estimated to cost 9 billion British pounds ($11.25 billion), according to the company.
