Aemetis Says Praj Industries Supplying Key Equipment for Mechanical Vapor Recompression Project
Oct 7, 2025 6:40 AM

09:07 AM EDT, 10/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Aemetis ( AMTX ) said Tuesday that Indian industrial biotech company Praj Industries is supplying equipment that form the key parts of its mechanical vapor recompression or MVR project.

Aemetis ( AMTX ) said the $30 million energy efficiency upgrade, which includes the integration of the MVR system, will help it advance decarbonization at its ethanol plant in Keyes, California.

The project is being executed by Centuri Holdings ( CTRI ) unit NPL Construction and is expected to be completed in Q2 of next year, Aemetis ( AMTX ) said.

The company said that once operational, the system is expected to cut natural gas usage at the Keyes plant by 80% and deliver an estimated $32 million of incremental annual cash flow from energy savings and increased revenue.

Aemetis ( AMTX ) shares were up more than 6%, while those of Centuri ( CTRI ) rose more than 1% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
