10:29 AM EDT, 06/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- AerCap Holdings ( AER ) said Wednesday a London commercial court ruled that its AerCap Ireland unit is entitled to claim a $1 billion insurance payout for aircraft and engines leased to Russian airlines that were not recovered following the 2022 conflict.
The indemnity from the insurers under the "War and Allied Perils" insurance policy coverage section is to be paid by July 2, the company said.
The insurance payment award will bring AerCap's ( AER ) pre-tax recoveries linked to the Ukraine conflict to $2.5 billion, according to a statement.
AerCap ( AER ) said that matters concerning interest and costs will be dealt with in a hearing expected to be fixed in September.
Shares were up 1.7% in recent trading.
