04:50 PM EST, 02/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- AeroVironment ( AVAV ) Thursday afternoon said its FreedomWerx manufacturing center in Salt Lake City has opened and the company plans production of autonomous aircraft and related equipment to start during H2 2025.

FreedomWerx is located near several transportation hubs, including Salt Lake City International Airport, and is expected to house more than 500 full-time employees once fully operational. The project is a collaboration with several state and regional agencies, including the Utah Inland Port Authority, the Economic Development Corporation of Utah and the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity.
