09:29 AM EDT, 04/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- AeroVironment ( AVAV ) said Tuesday it successfully demonstrated its palletized LOCUST Laser Weapon System aboard the US Navy's aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush in October 2025.

The system was able to track and neutralize multiple target drones during a live fire exercise, showing that it could protect maritime platforms aside from fixed-site and land-based mobile platforms, the company said.

The exercise was done in collaboration with the US Navy and the US Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office, the company said.
