11:28 AM EDT, 08/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- AeroVironment ( AVAV ) said Wednesday it has won a five-year contract worth up to $990 million from the US Army to deliver Switchblade loitering munitions.

The company said it expects to start deliveries of Switchblade systems for the US Army's lethal unmanned systems requirement in months.

Shares of the company jumped past 13% in recent trading.
