AES, TotalEnergies JV Gets $861.3 Million Conditional Loan Guarantee From Department of Energy

02:10 PM EDT, 07/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- AES ( AES ) and TotalEnergies (TTE) joint venture Clean Flexible Energy received a conditional loan guarantee of up to $861.3 million from the US Department of Energy, the department's Loan Programs Office said Thursday.

The loan guarantee will finance two solar farms with battery storage with 200-megawatt capacity and two standalone battery storage systems with up to 285-megawatt capacity in Puerto Rico.

Clean Flexible Energy must meet technical, legal, environmental and financial qualifications before DOE authorizes the loan, the statement added.

Neither AES ( AES ) nor TotalEnergies immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
