Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $1.68.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $2.95 billion, down from $4.95 billion a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $4.46 billion.

The company said its board maintained a quarterly dividend of $0.50 per share, payable Dec. 2 to shareholders of record on Nov. 20.
