Feb 5 (Reuters) - Aflac ( AFL ) reported a
fourth-quarter profit on Wednesday that missed Wall Street

through its units in the U.S. and Japan. It also offers
supplemental insurance for out-of-pocket expenses not typically
covered by major medical insurers.
On an adjusted basis, Aflac ( AFL ) earned $1.56 per share, compared
with the average analyst estimate of $1.62, according to data
compiled by LSEG.
The company's Japan unit reported adjusted sales of 359.9
billion yen ($2.36 billion), below estimates of $2.62 billion.
The insurer reported revenue of $5.4 billion, missing
estimates of $4.16 billion.
