06:48 AM EDT, 04/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Africa Oil ( AOIFF ) on Monday said it did not encounter hydrocarbons in the primary target in the Marula-1X drilling operation offshore Namibia.

The well was drilled to a total depth of 6,460 meters on Block 2913B about 47 kilometers south of the Venus-1X well. A comprehensive analysis of the well results is underway.

Africa Oil ( AOIFF ) has representatives on Impact Oil and Gas' board. Impact has a 9.5% interest in Blocks 2912 and 2913B in Namibia's Orange Basin. Africa Oil ( AOIFF ), through its 39.5% interest in Impact, has an effective interest of about 3.8% in these blocks. Block 2913B contains the Venus light oil discovery.
