04:40 PM EDT, 05/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Agilent Technologies ( A ) reported fiscal Q2 non-GAAP earnings late Wednesday of $1.22 per diluted share, down from $1.27 a year earlier.
Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $1.19.
Net revenue for the quarter ended April 30 was $1.57 billion, compared with $1.72 billion a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $1.58 billion.
For fiscal Q3, the company said it expects non-GAAP EPS of 1.25 to $1.28 on revenue of $1.54 billion to $1.58 billion. Analysts expect $1.45 EPS and $1.72 billion revenue.
For fiscal 2024, the company now expects non-GAAP EPS of $5.15 to $5.25, down from its previous guidance of $5.44 to $5.55. Analysts expect $5.50.
It now expects fiscal 2024 revenue ranging from $6.42 billion to $6.50 billion, lower than its previous outlook of $6.71 billion to $6.81 billion. Analysts are looking for $6.78 billion.
The company said its board recently approved board a $2.0 billion share repurchase program, and it plans to buy back $750 million of its common stock by the end of the fiscal year.
Shares of the company slumped 14% in recent after-hours activity.
