Agriculture Ministry asked to rework MSP mechanism for kharif crops

As the kharif planting season has started in the country, but there is no clarity from the government as far as the new minimum support price (MSP) regime is concerned.

CNBC-TV18's Ashpreet Sethi said that the Union Finance Ministry has asked the Union Agriculture Ministry to rework the funding and the procurement method for crops.

The Union Agriculture Ministry has demanded over Rs 25,000 crore but Union Finance Ministry was ready to bear between Rs 20,000-25,000 crore.
