09:03 AM EDT, 08/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- AgriFORCE Growing Systems ( AGRI ) said Tuesday that the China National Intellectual Property Administration has granted the company a patent for its automated greenhouse system.

The agricultural technology company said the patent, which covers automated systems for plant cultivation within enclosed greenhouses, follows a similar US patent granted in June.

The system aims to reduce farming labor costs and energy consumption while allowing the creation of controlled microclimates, AgriFORCE said.

Shares of the company were up more than 9% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
