AI summit secures safety commitments from 16 companies, statement says

SEOUL, May 21 (Reuters) - AI companies including

Alphabet's Google, Meta, Microsoft ( MSFT )

and OpenAI as well as from China, South Korea and the United

Arab Emirates committed to safe AI development on Tuesday,

according to a statement from the UK government.

The announcement came as South Korea and Britain host a

global AI summit in Seoul starting Tuesday.
