11:24 AM EDT, 09/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Air Canada ( ACDVF ) Tuesday said it has agreed with the Canadian Union of Public Employees' (CUPE) request that wage negotiations proceed directly to arbitration, dispensing with mediation.
Air Canada ( ACDVF ) and CUPE had reached a four-year tentative agreement for its flight attendants in August. This agreement included improvements to wages, pensions and benefits, while also including a agreed-to modernization of compensation for work performed on the ground, an Air Canada ( ACDVF ) statement said.
As the flight attendants did not ratify the agreement, Air Canada ( ACDVF ) and CUPE agreed that the wage portion would be referred to mediation and, if no agreement was reached at that stage, to arbitration. The parties also agreed that no labor disruption could be initiated, and flights will continue to operate.
Air Canada ( ACDVF ) shares are down $0.04, to $18.94, on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
