Air Lease to Be Acquired by Investor Group that Includes Apolllo for $7.4 Billion of Cash

06:25 AM EDT, 09/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Air Lease ( AL ) said Tuesday it has agreed to be acquired by Dublin, Ireland holding company whose shares are held by Sumitomo, SMBC Aviation Capital, and investment vehicles affiliated with Apollo (APO) managed funds and Brookfield for $7.4 billion in cash, or $28.2 billion including debt obligations.

Under the terms of the merger agreement, Air Lease ( AL ) shareholders will receive $65.00 in cash per share, or a 7% premium over its all-time high closing price on Aug. 28, for each share at the closing of the transaction, the company said.

Air Lease ( AL ) said its board has unanimously approved the agreement, which is subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals and is expected to close in H1 of 2026.
