The low-cost data services by Reliance Jio has disrupted the market and has forced other operators to respond with generous counter-offers to retain customers, turning up the competitive heat in a market of over 1.12 billion mobile subscribers.
The mobile data consumption in India is now the highest in the world at 1.3 million GB per month — more than combined data usage in the US and China.
Here is a look at popular data plans provided by Airtel, Jio and Vodafone to its customers.
Bharti Airtel's
Rs 419 plan:
The latest prepaid recharge plan from the telecom giant offers 105 GBs of data for just Rs 419. The 75 day plan will come with a cap of 1.4 GB data per day. The prepaid plan also provides users with other facilities such as unlimited local/STD and national roaming calls along with 100 free SMSes per day.
Reliance Jio's Rs 349 plan:
The Reliance Jio on the other hand offers a Rs 349 plan to all its Jio Prime customers. People availing the plan get 105 GBs of data for a period of 70 days. There will be a daily cap of 1.5 GB for data usage. In addition the user can also make unlimited number of number local/STD and national roaming calls for free besides 100 free SMSes per day.
Vodafone's Rs 399 plan:
Users availing Rs 399 plan are provided with 98 GBs of data valid for 70 days. The data offer will come with a cap of 1.4 GB data per day. In addition, users can send 100 free SMSes daily and will also benefit from the option of making unlimited number local/STD and national roaming calls for free.
