08:54 AM EDT, 07/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alaska Air Group's ( ALK ) flight attendants will receive an average pay raise of 32% and guaranteed boarding pay under a tentative three-year labor deal, according to the Association of Flight Attendants, which represents the workers.

The labor union said the deal was reached after "20 months of hard bargaining" and that it is the first airline to guarantee boarding pay in a legally binding contract.

Other aspects of the tentative deal include boarding pay increases ranging from 4.6% to 33.6%, a 401(k) match increase, and 21 months of retro pay.

The agreement must be ratified by the members of the flight attendants union before it becomes binding.

Alaska Air Group ( ALK ) did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
