03:04 PM EDT, 03/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alaska Air Group ( ALK ) said Thursday that its union employees represented by the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association ratified a new five-year contract that covers increased pay and retirement contribution, and quality of life improvements.

The union employees include aircraft maintenance technicians, maintenance controllers and other workers who support aircraft maintenance, according to the company.

The company said the new contract is effective as of the amendable date of Oct. 17, 2023 of its previous contract with the AMFA. Wage increases include a rate of $65.85 for technician classifications.

AMFA did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Alaska Air ( ALK ) shares were down 2% in recent trading.
