Alaska Air, Hawaiian merger moves forward as US DOJ review period ends

(Reuters) - Alaska Airlines said late on Monday that the time period for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to complete its regulatory investigation of the proposed combination with Hawaiian Airlines has expired.

"This is a significant milestone in the process to join our airlines," Alaska Airlines said in a statement posted on its website, adding that the airline is now awaiting next steps with the U.S. Transportation Department.
