Alaska Energy Metals to Explore Potential Natural Hydrogen Resource at Angliers-Belleterre Project in Quebec
Oct 17, 2024 1:27 PM

08:20 AM EDT, 10/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alaska Energy Metals ( AKEMF ) said Wednesday that it plans to conduct a hydrogen soil gas survey over a portion of its Angliers-Belleterre project in Quebec.

The company said the survey will determine if the project holds potential for natural, white hydrogen accumulations.

Recent soil gas sample data released by adjacent claim owner Quebec Innovative Materials ( QIMCF ) showed the potential for hydrogen accumulations to occur within the Lake Timiskaming Basin of western Quebec, which intersects with the Angliers claim block, Alaska Energy said.

"Natural hydrogen has gained prominence as a potential contributor to the low carbon energy landscape," said Gabe Graf, Alaska Energy's chief geoscientist. "Both the industry and governments worldwide have shown a growing interest in natural hydrogen exploration, which may form an important part of the future energy mix."

Alaska Energy said it will continue advancing nickel-copper targets in the project.

The company's share price rose 3.3% yesterday to $0.155 on the TSXV.
