10:02 AM EDT, 06/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Albemarle (ALB) said Tuesday it has introduced its project plan for the Kings Mountain mine in North Carolina.

Under the proposed plan, the company will transfer its non-ore-bearing material to the adjacent Martin Marietta Kings Mountain Quarry, while it will make use of a former mica mine for tailings storage, Albemarle added.

Additionally, the company said it expects the Kings Mountain mine to produce roughly 420,000 tons of lithium-bearing spodumene concentrate annually.
