Albemarle says it may lower capex if lithium prices stay low
May 2, 2024 7:30 AM

May 2 (Reuters) - Albemarle, the world's largest

producer of lithium for electric vehicle batteries, said on

Thursday that the company could look at reducing capital

expenditure in the future if lithium prices remain flat,

although it maintained its 2024 outlook.

Company executives spoke in a call with analysts a day after

reporting first quarter revenue down 47% from the year before

due to lower lithium prices.
