08:32 AM EST, 02/13/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Alcoa ( AA ) and Century Aluminum ( CENX ) shares slid in recent Friday premarket activity, after the Financial Times reported President Donald Trump's administration is considering scaling back parts of its tariffs on steel and aluminum goods.

Alcoa ( AA ) shares dropped nearly 6%, while Century Aluminum ( CENX ) shares fell 12%.

The FT, citing three unnamed people familiar with the matter, said US trade officials are reviewing the list of products subject to tariffs of up to 50% imposed last year and may exempt certain items, citing concerns the levies were hurting Americans.

The Department of Commerce did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
